There is a great deal of convincing evidence showing a correlation between Calcium intake and losing fat. A diet low in calcium has been shown to lead to an increase in body fat while a diet high in calcium has been shown to reduce body fat.
You get calcium in your diet from dairy products and leafy vegetables. It is always best to get your vitamin and mineral needs from diet where possible, however this can be difficult (particularly for those who can't eat dairy) and supplements are often needed to compensate for the shortfall.
